Morar is in the PH40 postcode area in Highland Scotland sitting 3 mls from Mallaig & 39 from Fort William on the Northwest coastline (it gets the gulfstrem weather so os generally milder than many surroumding areas) we are accross the main A830 from the village of Morar that has local ammenities primary school, petrol garage with main shops and such in Mallaig, where you will find both Spar & Co-Op shops, chemist, doctors, goodly assortment of other shops, library, local service points for council etc banks, PO, train station, another petrol/repairs garage a cafe, resteraunts and hotels, and a swimming pool/lesiure centre, its is a well served local area, you will also find the harbourside and ferries to the small isles Skye, Eigg Rum and beyond it has everything needed and more! If your an outdoors type person you will truly love this locale, with its many scenic oppurtunities if your passion is photography, birdwatching etc, walking, cycling, fishing or any number of similar sports well served hereabout its a very safe area for both young/old with almost zero crime rates its further a slendid area to get away from it all whether you want it quiet or busy you have it all with-in easy reach, ample schooling for your young along side many locally available clubs, groups and communities making this an truly excellent choice to live, work & indeed play. The world famous Silver Sands beach in Morar is quite literally accross the road from us, in this location we commamd an enviable view from the head of The River Morar down its length a well known local spectacle that flows into the very close-by Loch Morar just behind us and the spectacle it is to sail, waterski or just stare at if you have a dog or are a landscape painter/photographer i suggest you agree and pack up now this is the area for ypu alright, my partner walks our wee King Charles up and down the rivers foreshore daily and they both love it, we further enjoy the peace quiet and closeness to everything else and will miss it greatly no doubt this area is well served by both mainline trains and local buses so if you do not drive its not an issue the local bus will if require stop right at the gate to thsi property no problems going both ways (they are quite helpful that way) What we found best here apart from the scenery and peace/quiet has been the friendly locals the big bonus has undoubtedly been the fact we have only one neighbour and only one other property anywhere close to us and the fact you can pretty much suit yourself around here, a place to enjoy, a place to have absolutely nothing to worry about this is definately it.
